Grapes



We know that king of fruits is mango, So who fruit is the queen? Why the grapes are famous for? Do you like grapes Or you like wine? Yes,wines are made from grapes. Whenever we talk about grapes, our mind thinks of wine once. There are over 5,000 varieties of grapes used for making wine. grapes "QUEEN OF THE FRUITS " are storehouse of numerous health promoting phyto-nutrients,vitamins and minerals. So,that is why, they are always present in a regular diet.
Grapes are small round berries grow in clusters on a perennial and delicious woody vine of the genus. On the basis of color, grapes are of three types red,black,green. Commercially ,many cultivars of grapes are grown for different purposes either eaten as table fruit, fresh or dried( raisin, currant, sultana) or in wine production.
Purple/black or red grapes contains resveratrol which has amazing benefits.
Lets see some interesting benefits of grapes-



  1. PROTECTS YOUR HEART- In research, resveratrol demonstrated the ability to improve the dilation of blood vessels which may allow blood to flow more easily through blood vessels. It has also been shown to relax the walls of the blood vessels,making their diameter larger, thereby lowering blood pressure and allowing a higher volume of blood to flow through all areas of body delivers increased oxygen and nutrients to the body's cells.
  2. PROTECTS YOUR HEART- Resveratrol mopped up brain damaging plaques and free radicals, which have been linked to Alzheimer's disease.
  3. IMPROVE BRAIN POWER- In a British study students given resveratrol increases blood flow to their brains by 200 percent. Scientists believe resveratrol can help speed our mental responses.

NOTE: just before eating, wash the whole bunch to remove any pesticides residues and dust by rinsing in cold water for several minutes. Place the whole bunch in cold water and gently swish them around several times. If you are not going to consume the whole bunch at one go, then separate it into small clusters using scissors. This way you can keep the remaining grapes fresher by preventing them from drying out.

BLACK GRAPES V/s GREEN AND RED GRAPES?

 The main difference is in grapes based on skin color such as between black grapes or green grapes are in the context of their antioxidants properties. Darker colored are found to display higher antioxidant activity as compare to lighter varieties. Black grapes also derive some of their special health benefits from the presence of nocyanosis, a substance that leads if its distinctive color and tonic properties as well. Most importantly flavonoids don't just lend grapes great taste, but they also are responsible for most the health benefits. The color and juiciness of the grapes derive from these nutrients, which are phytochemical. So, higher the flavonoid content, the darker and juicier with the quality of grapes.Correspondingly, black grapes are believe to be healthiest.
